2018 Annual Meeting

October 16-17, 2018 • Waikiki, Hawaii

We'd like to personally welcome each of you to the ADMC's 31st Meeting. It's an exciting time for ADMC we continue to grow and adapt, remaining always adaptable, motivated and responsive to our membership and our partnering sponsors.

The ADMC and Hawaii have certain things in common. They are both destinations sought by many- one is an exotic locale; the other is a professional achievement. Getting to Hawaii takes time and effort. So does becoming a member in the ADMC.

Hawaii is going to be exhilarating in so many ways! First of all – how can we argue with location? Oahu is rich in tropical beauty and full of lush adventures! Our program is going to be abundant with learning and will provide fantastic resources to help our businesses flourish. We will have time to network with our peers in group learning settings as we help each other become better and stronger in the spirit of ADMC collaboration. Laura Jamison and I had the opportunity to preview our two keynote speakers and they are fantastic! You will take away pearls for professional and personal growth. You will learn how to grow your business from member break-outs and panel discussions.

During the planning of this meeting your board learned a word: “Ohana”. It is a Hawaiian word that means family. In many ways, our meeting is similar to a family reunion. Our annual meeting is that time when we REALLY connect with friends – not on Facebook or other social media but hands-on / hugs on! WE renew our connections and meet new members of our ADMC family. There will be fun events so we can enjoy each other in true “Ohana” style. Plan on an ADMC luau and of course, our special evening with our longest and one of our dearest partnering sponsors, Care Credit.

This is also going to be a busy meeting where we induct new officers and new board members. Our new logo, web site and concentrated efforts on improving our social media presence will already be in full force, thanks to our marketing Team. The ADMC seeks to continue to expand and grow members’ advantages. There will be a vote to change some of our by-laws and who knows what other surprises may erupt while we are in the shadow of Diamondhead.

Please consider nominating a colleague or volunteering for a position on the board. You will learn a lot and grow friendships while giving back to your academy. Serving with these strong and talented people has truly been an honor for me. As one of my former employers often said, “You may be smarter than me, but you’re not as smart as my whole team.” These women have worked beautifully together to make the ADMC stronger and improve member benefits. It will be bittersweet to pass the gavel for my third time. But I know I’m putting it into good hands.

I think we are still one of the best “deals” in our profession. Our annual dues include the annual meeting registration as well as our webinars, regional meetings and website profiles. We have great sponsoring partners who help our clients as well as help us in our work as consultants and speakers.

I am looking forward to basking in the Hawaiian sun with you and basking in the accomplishments of the ADMC and each of our members. Thank you for the privilege of serving you, yet again.
